Palak Anda or Egg in Spinach Gravy

From yesterday it is snowing heavily everything became white and too cold also. Can’t go out so better to have good food at home and watch some good movies. I have some spinach left in my fridge,so wanted to cook something with our favorite spinach.

 
How about some egg in spinach gravy. Since long back I planned to cook something like that but any how didn't happen before. This one is also little similar to Palak  Paneer. But with egg the taste becomes better. Made some veg polao with this it’s really a great combo. The cooking method is really very easy and with egg and spinach the dish becomes very healthy for kids also.
 


Preparation time: 10 mints.
Cooking time: 30 mints.
Serve for :2 people.
Ingredients:
1.Eggs: 4.
2.One bunch of spinach.
3.One medium size chopped onion.
4.One small chopped tomato. And one table spoon tomato puree.
5.Half cup chopped coriander.
6.One table spoon ginger garlic paste.
7.Turmeric Powder, Coriander Powder, Cumin Powder, Red Chili Powder (half tea spoon of each item).
8.A pinch of garam masala powder.

9.Whole garam Masala(2 clove, 2 cardamom, one bay leave, a small piece of cinnamon stick).
10.Salt and sugar as per taste.
11.One table spoon fresh cream.
12.Sunflower oil for cooking, One tea spoon butter.


Process:

Cut and boiled the spinach, after it cool down make a smooth paste with this and keep aside.

Now marinate the egg pieces with a pinch of turmeric powder and salt but before that cut some slashes from top to bottom with a sharp knife (cut should be very less).

Now fry the eggs in little oil till they golden brown.

Put some oil in a vessel and add whole garam Masala after few seconds add the chopped onions and tomatoes. Fry till the onions are transparent.

Now add the ginger garlic paste along with all spices powder except garam masala powder with some salt and sugar cook till the oil separate.

Now add the tomato puree and cook for few mints. Finally add the spinach paste and cook with a lid for 5 to 8 mints in low flame.



Now remove the lid and add some warm water and add the chopped coriander and the fried egg pieces and again cook with a lid for 3 to 4 mints.

Remove the lid and add the garam masala powder and the butter with some cream. Switch off the gas.

 
Served hot with Polao or Paratha.

Saag Murgh Makkhanwala or Spinach Chicken with Butter

One more spinach item was our today’s dinner. As I told before me and my husband we both love spinach, so love to try something new always with spinach. Spinach is really very healthy and with chicken it’s become tastier. While doing grocery shopping I got lots of fresh spinach today, that’s why I can’t stop myself to prepare something with spinach.

Spinach has a high nutritional value. And fresh spinach is really good for kids also. I used to add spinach in my daughters food too.

This one I made with butter if you don’t want to add butter then you can cook in canola or sunflower oil also. Just add little butter after finishing the cooking. I named it Saag Murgh Makhanwala to this lovely dish and specially for upcoming holidays.


 
 Preparation time: 15 mints.
Cooking time: 40 mints.
Serve for 2 people.


Ingredients:
1.Chicken: 600 gm (boneless or with bone cut into small pieces).
2.One bunch of fresh spinach.
3.One medium finely chopped onion.

4.One table spoon ginger and garlic paste.
5.One small chopped tomato.
6.Two tea spoon curd.
7.Cumin powder, Corinader Powder,Red chili powder, Garam Masala Powder (half tea spoon of each item).
8.Whole garam masala(2 clove, 2 cardamom, one small cinnamon stick, one small bay leave, few black pepper).
9.Half cup thick milk.
10. Salt and sugar as per taste.
11.Three table spoon butter or Sunflower oil.




Process:
Marinate the chicken pieces with some salt, red chili powder, freshly crushed black pepper and curd for one hour.


Now wash and chopped the spinach and boiled with some salt. Let it cool down, now make a smooth paste with that and keep it aside.

Add some butter in a vessel and fry the marinated chicken pieces in high heat and keep them aside.

Now add some more butter on the same vessel and add the whole garam masala after few second add the chopped onions, chopped tomato and ginger garlic paste and cook till the onions are transparent.

Now add the spices powder with some salt and sugar, and cook till the oil separate. Now add the fried chicken pieces with the milk and cook with a lid till the chickens are almost done.

Now add the boiled spinach paste and cook till the gravy become thick (around 4 to 5 mints in low flame).


Your Saag Chicken Makhanwal is ready served hot with Roti or Paratha.

Creamy Cheese & Spinach Pasta


Yesterday I watched one cookery show where I learnt this awesome Pasta recipe. Previously I told several times that I love Spinach, that’s why where I find cooking something with spinach I just love to follow this. Spinach is very much healthy for kids and elders both.

Guests often come to our places without informing and we need to prepare something quickly . So this recipe surely helps you out to please your guest and sometime for your family member too.








Prep time: 10 mint.

Cooking time: 10 to 12 mints.

Serve for 2 people.

Ingredients:

1.Pasta: Two cup.
2. Spinach: One small bunch (chopped).
3.Milk: One big cup.
4.Heavy cream : Half cup.
5. One table spoon of shredded cheese.
6.One table spoon all-purpose flour.
7.A pinch of dry Basil.
8.A pinch of Oregano.
9.Half tea spoon of dry red chili flakes.
10.Half tea spoon of freshly crushed pepper.
11.Salt & Sugar as per taste.
12.Twoto three table spoon of olive oil.

Process:

Boil the pasta with some oil and salt. After boiling drain the hot water and put some cold water into the boiled pasta.

Now add the oil in a vessel and add the all-purpose flour stir continuously and slowly add the herbs, red chili flakes and crushed pepper with some salt & Sugar.

Now add the milk and stir continuously so that no lump will be there.

After the milk start boiling adds the chopped spinach and cover with a lid.

When the spinach melt nicely with milk add the cream and the cheese. After 2 mints add the boiled
Pasta.
Mix nicely with the creamy mixture.



It’s creamy and very very yummy. Enjoy your Spinach Pasta and serve Hot.

Chicken in Spinach & Coriander Gravy


I love spinach in every way. So how about chicken with Spinach, So I just combined some spinach and coriander and made a nice gravy. And named it Chicken in Spinach & coriander Gravy. Quite big name right, I know that but I love to call the dish like that. Try it for sure it’s smell just too good.



Prep time: 20mints.
Cooking Time: 30 mints.
Serve for 4 people.

Ingredients:
1.Chicken : 1 Kg.
2.One large chopped onion.
3.One medium chopped tomato.
4.Five to six clove chopped garlic.
5.One inch ginger chopped.
6.A small bunch of spinach.
7.Two to Three green chili.
8.A small bunch of coriander.
9. Few Mustard seeds .
10.One tea spoon Turmeric powder.
11.One tea spoon Red chili powder.
12.One tea spoon Coriander powder.
13.One tea spoon Garam Masala powder
14.One table spoon curd.
15. Salt & Sugar as per taste.
16.Sunflower oil.



Process:

Marinate the chicken with some Turmeric powder, Curd & Salt .Keep it aside.



Make a smooth paste with the Spinach, Coriander & Green chili. (just grind it)

Put some oil in a heavy bottomed vessel. Now add the mustard seeds when it’s start popping add chopped ginger & garlic.

Next add the onions and fry till transparent.

Now add the chopped tomatoes and fry till the tomatoes cooked nicely, slowly add the red chili and coriander powder and cook till the oil separate.

Now add the marinated chicken. When the chickens are 50% done add the spinach and coriander paste.




Cook for some time now add the garam masala powder and some sugar. Sprinkle some water and cove with lid. Cook until done.



Enjoy the green gravy with Roti,Paratha or any kind of Rice.

Palak Dal or Spinach With Yellow Mong Lentil




Spinach is full of protein. You can make any dish with that leafy green vegetable. So I cook a nice spinach daal (Palak +Moong dal). It’s a very healthy diet.

Prep Time :20 mint.
 Serve for 4 people.
Ingredients:
 1.One big Bunch of spinach (chopped).
 2.Moong Dal 200 gm.
 3.One medium chopped onion.
 4.One medium chopped tomato.
 5.Three clove crushed garlic.
 6.Few fenugreek seeds.
 7.Few cumin seeds.
 8.One dry red chili.
 9.Two green chili.
 10.Few curry leaves.
 11.One tea spoon Turmeric powder.
 12.One tea spoon Cumin powder.
 13.Salt & sugar (optional) as per taste.
 14.Sunflower oil.
 15.Half tea spoon ghee.

Process:
Fry the dry Moong dal then boiled the dal in a pressure cooker with the chopped spinach, some chopped tomato, salt & green chili.
Put oil in a heavy bottom vessel . Add the dry red chili. Fenugreek seeds, Cumin seeds & curry leaves.
Now add the chopped tomato and chopped onions fry till the onion become golden brown.
Now add the Turmeric & Cumin Powder .Mix well, add salt and sugar.
Cook for few seconds.
Finally add the boiled dal with Spinach.
Cover with lid and cook for 7 to 8 mint. Sprinkle the ghee and switch of the flame.
Serve with Rice or Roti.

Palak Paneer or Cottage Cheese in Spinach Gravy

A very famous North India Cuisine. We used to had this always in the restaurant, so once my husband told me to cook for few of our guests and they liked it like anything. Very easy recipe. Specially made with spinach gravy and cottage cheese (Paneer).


Prep time :45 Mint.
Serve for 4 to 5 people.

Ingredients:
1.300 gm Paneer .(cut in cubes)
2.Two bunches of Spinach.(Boil in hot Water and make a smooth paste )


3.One large Chopped Onion.
4.some green chilies cut straight wise.
5.One Big tomato puree.(boil in a hot water then make a smooth paste)
6.Ginger Garlic Paste 1 table spoon.
7.One tea spoon red chili Powder.
8.One tea spoon coriander powder.
9.Garam Masala powder one tea spoon.
10.One tea spoon of Fresh Cream.
11.Salt & Sugar as per taste.
12.Ghee or sunflower oil.

 Process;

Add ghee or oil in heavy bottom vessel and fry the paneer til golden brown.

On that vessel and some more oil and add the chopped onion’s, fry till the onions are golden brown then add the chilies fry for a while then add the red chili and coriander powder mix them all for about 2 mint.

After that add the tomato puree stir well add salt and little sugar.

Now time for add the spinach gravy, mix them all add the fried paneer cubes. Cover with lid for 3 mint.

Reduce flame add the garam masala powder and cream cook with lid for another 5 mint. 

Palak Paneer is ready, serve hot with Roti Chapati or Paratha.
